Test 30 Videos
This section describes in detail the method for aligning a vise or other work holder with the machine axis. Establishing work coordinate systems by setting the work offsets is described for straight edges, and the centers of round features.
- 30.01 Indicator Setup
- At the end of this unit the student will be able to demonstrate methods to set the indicator and obtain a consistent, easy to interpret reading.
- 30.02 Vise Alignment
- At the end of this unit the student will be able to quickly and accurately align a solid vise jaw, or any straight fixture surface, to a machine axis within .001 inch.
- 30.03 Offsets
- At the end of this unit the student will be able to access the work offset tables, and explain the several available work offsets and their associated work coordinate systems.
- 30.04 Edge Pickup
- At the end of this unit student will be able to accurately establish work offsets relative to straight edges, specifically establishing an origin on the corner of a part within .001 inch.
- 30.05 Hole Pickup
- At the end of this unit the student will be able to establish a work coordinate system origin at the center of a hole using two methods.
