This section includes information related to the setup and operation of CNC machines.  It is based the Precision Machining program at Monroe Community College, is specifically tied to the TAM 139/142/205 course requirements, and uses the Haas Minimill equipment available in the CNC lab.  However, many of the methods illustrated are general and can be applied to other styles of machines and controllers.

The MCC curriculum is structured around six tests.  The video demonstrations and review questions for each test can be accessed using the links below.

Test 10

This section describes the general machining and control panel layout, startup procedures, and manual operations.

Test 20

Test 30

This section describes vise alignment and work offsets for the X – Y planes.

Test 50

This section describes loading tool holders, establishing the tool lengths, and working with programs.

Test 60

This section describes the overall process for setting up and running a program.
